Beirut: The Hollywood Film That Has Nothing To Do With Beirut

If you thought Hollywood had reached peak disappointment, meet the new movie Beirut about a US diplomat named Mason Skiles (lol wut?) who returns to Beirut to save his cool white friend because we, the savage brown people, kidnapped him. I am paraphrasing but this is the gist.
Of course the Lebanese element of the movie is juxtaposed with a serene and courteous israeli representation.

The movie is to be released on April 13th, if that date seems peculiar it’s because it is the date usually referred to as the starting point of the civil war.

Cherry on top: IT ISN’T EVEN FILMED IN BEIRUT. IT IS FILMED IN MOROCCO. WELL DONE.

When will we retire this storyline? White people come to the primitive Middle East and school us on being human, all the while wearing aviator sunglasses and remaining calm, cool, and collected while we wave guns in their faces.

You can watch the trailer here but like, mish daroure.
