Lebanese Oscar Winner And Asmahan’s Grand Daughter Are Joining Forces At Beiteddine Art Festival 2019

The much-anticipated and annual Beiteddine Art Festival has given us yet another reason to book our tickets ASAP.

On July 18th, the art festival will kick off with a grand opening and world-premiere featuring Lebanese Oscar-winning composer Gabriel Yared and vocalist Yasmina Joumblatt, granddaughter of the legendary singer Asmahan. How did such great minds come together, you ask?

Impressed by her authenticity and passion for Arabic music and its dissemination, Yared discovered Joumblatt’s talent in Paris, when her performance reminded him of her great-grandmother, an undisputed icon in Arabic music.

With his support and her drive to chase her dreams, Joumblatt paved her way into the world of music; something she has always been infatuated with.

Her journey in self-discovery and self-development eventually culminated in the birth of a music collaboration with Gabriel Yared, which resulted in the creation of 9 original songs and the recreation of 3 Asmahan songs.

A radical and life-changing moment for Joumblatt indeed! The artists will perform alongside the Lebanese Philharmonic Orchestra.
