AUBMC Is Launching Lebanon’s Very First Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) Program

Our hopes for an integrated and comprehensive sexual health program in Lebanon are finally being realized with the official launch of WISH.

We’re thrilled to hear that the unique program is the first of its kind, both in Lebanon and the MENA region, and will encompass clinical, research, training, and advocacy services on sexuality in general and sexual health.

With a multidisciplinary team operating and steering the program, patients will benefit from a number of clinical services, including:

Counseling: Provide guidance to individuals and couples to enhance their sexuality and sexual health, and prevent ill sexual health and dysfunction.

Clinical treatment: Provide a wide range of treatment and therapeutic options for particular sexual dysfunctions and conditions.

Rehabilitation and maintenance: Help regain and maintain sexual health in cancer survivors and patients following surgery and trauma.

Education: Promote positive aspects of sexuality and provide facts and skills that help achieve a satisfying sexual life.

Gone are the days when sexuality was a taboo and sexual health was disregarded, because WISH aims to encourage and empower Lebanese women of all age groups to speak out on frequently avoided but decisive sexual health issues.

Directed by Dr Faysal El Kak, WISH collaborates with a versatile team of professionals, comprised of: Dr. Sandrine Atallah (Clinical PsychoSexology), Dr. Ali Taher (Naef K. Basile Cancer Institute), Dr. Farid Talih (Psychiatry), Dr. Brigitte Khoury (Clinical Psychology), and Dr. Basel Bashir (Urology).

The new Women’s Integrated Sexual Health Program (WISH) will reside at the Women’s Health Center (WHC), Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBS/GYN) at AUBMC.
