Lebanon’s First Specialized School For Children With Autism To Open In September

After multiple accounts of children with autism being denied admission into schools across Lebanon, there is officially a new hope for a better and more inclusive life for differently abled children.

The gap in the educational system and the lack of inclusivity was highly apparently to entrepreneur Bachir Sarkis who subsequently took matters into his own hands and helped establish the “1,2,3 Autism School” in Dbayeh.

The specialized private school is the first of its kind in the country, and will provide students with therapeutic intervention and specialized attention that will allow them to thrive, and help out the parents as well, along with a special ABA therapy tailored to reach an accurate diagnosis for the kids. The school will have highly trained teachers, counselors, and professionals who will make sure that the child’s educational experience is maximized and that their facilities remain up to date on new therapies and teaching techniques.

The school was funded with a donation from businessman Sarkis Sarkis, and will run under the management of “NECC – USA”.

Providing guidance, understanding and a safe place, “1, 2, 3” is officially opening its doors in September 2019.

This is an exceptional addition to the Lebanese educational system and we hope for more inclusive schooling for differently abled children and youth down the line.
