Lebanon Back In Lockdown For 4 Days, Here Are The Details
The Minister of Health Hamad Hassan has announced that a lockdown will be implemented across the country for the coming four days.
The lockdown will begin on Thursday, July 30th and end on Sunday, August 2nd lasting 4 days total. Another lockdown is due to be implemented between August 6 and August 10. The Ministry has basically put Lebanon on lockdown for two weeks apart from the long weekend of Eid al Adha.
Here are the specific regulations:
– Clubs, bars, and gyms will be closed
– Wedding parties are forbidden
– Serving arguile is not permitted anywhere
– Cafes and restaurants to operate at 50% capacities
– No one is to enter Lebanon without a PCR test
– Those coming in from countries with a high infection rate must quarantine for 10-14 days
– Prison sentences ranging between 6 months to 3 years for various violations, including intentionally infecting others.
This comes after a surge in coronavirus cases in the country, with Lebanon recording 168 cases in the past 48 hours. In an attempt to curb the outbreak, the country will be going back into lockdown.
