Rawan Misto’s Sister Shares Heartbreaking Birthday Message
“I only had one sister.. ONE SISTER MY GOVERMENT KILLED. How to wish you a happy birthday???? SOMEONE TELL ME HOW?? It’s too hard💔”.
These were the heartbreaking words shared by Rawan Misto’s sister Rima on the occasion of her birthday. The pair should have been celebrating and enjoying a slice or two on the streets of Beirut, but Rawan was tragically killed by our negligent state during the Beirut port explosion.
Rawan was 20 years old at the time, working as a waitress at the popular Gemmayze spot, Cyrano. Her photograph still hangs on their wall. To Rima we say, your sister is not forgotten. We wish you strength.
On August 4, we will all take to the streets to remember Rawan and so many others who were taken too soon.
