Model Of Baalbek Temple Used To Smuggle Hash And Coke

A tweet shared by Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces revealed a recent drug bust involving a couple of very quirky props: a wooden cedar tree and a model of Baalbek’s temple.

A parcel found at one of Lebanon’s shipping companies had a wooden replica of the Temple of Bacchus filled with 12.8 kilos of Cannabis to be shipped to an unnamed European destination.

Upon arresting the senders of the parcel, security forces seized 250 grams of cocaine hidden inside a wooden cedar. One hilarious detail that can be noticed is that the cedar is engraved with, “in memory of our grandfather”.

Clearly, they have a theme going. Maybe we have to slightly applaud their dedication to promoting Lebanese icons?
