If you’re on the hunt for mouthwatering Korean hot dogs in Beirut, we’ve found the perfect spot for you. We recently tried Kogowa, a new gem in the heart of Beirut, and it’s quickly becoming a must-try for the best Korean hot dogs in town.
Located right next to Ciaowarma between Gemmayze and Mar Mikhael, you might miss the colorful decor and their mascot, Alex, plastered across the glass doors.
If you’re familiar with the viral Oh! K-Dog in New York, the most viral street food vendor for Korean corn dogs in the Big Apple, you’ve probably been craving a taste of those delicious, crispy treats right here in Beirut.
Kogowa offers delightful options for you to chow down on after a night of bar hopping or as the perfect midday snack to fuel up with friends before continuing your adventures in the city.
Don’t be shy to tell the staff your preferences – they’re more than happy to recommend something just for you, and that’s exactly what we did.
Tempura shrimps dynamite ($8.5) – Though they weren’t as crispy as you’d expect tempura shrimp to be, they were delicious. The shrimps were large, so they were quite filling and their dynamite sauce is amazing!
Classic Beef Hot Dog with Potato Coating and Yum Yum Sauce ($6.5) – If you want to play it safe when you’re trying it for the first time, you can’t go wrong with a simple hot dog with crunchy potato coating and their signature sauce.
Hot Dog + Cheese with Potato Coating and Yum Yum Sauce ($7.5) – A cheese rendition of their classic hot dog for those who want a good cheese pull. For some reason, that makes the meal ten times better.
They were also kind enough to treat us to their ChoKoWa, a chocolate and caramel dessert to wrap up our visit.
Kogowa is perfect for a casual bite or when you’re craving something to-go. It’s even better when shared with friends, especially if you decide to stand curbside and enjoy your hot dogs before heading out.
We would definitely visit again to try different options on their menu! The best thing about this spot is that you get to choose your hot dog, the coating, and the sauce, so there are lots of options to choose from. Here’s a look at their menu if you’re curious:
