Forget Everything You Know About Choirs, This Lebanese One Hits Different

When you think of choirs, chances are you picture formal stages, matching robes, and carefully layered harmonies. But one Lebanese choir is flipping that image on its head, blending unconventional themes into every choral performance.

The USJ choir, under the baton of Yasmina Sabbah, has built a reputation for mixing genres during their recitals. From symphonic rock anthems to heavy metal medleys, they’re pushing boundaries and redefining the traditional music scene alongside the USJ symphonic orchestra.

Here’s a glimpse of their symphonic rock concert:

And if you’re into raves, they’re taking things up a notch with a symphonic electro-dance concert on July 10, 2025.

Part of their Symphonic Fusion Series, the show will blend EDM hits from artists like Lady Gaga, Daft Punk, Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, Amr Diab, and Najwa Karam with live vocals, a full orchestra, and a DJ, all under Yasmina Sabbah’s direction.

You can buy your tickets online here or head over to the nearest Ticketing Box Office branch. Prices range from $30 to $100, with options that won’t break the bank depending on where you want to sit.

Make sure to keep an eye out for any exciting concerts! They’ve built a habit of pulling off unexpected themes and genre mashups that keep the Beirut music scene on its toes.
