From Beirut to the Bay: Beloved Café The Slow Opens in Dbayeh’s Waterfront City
Beirut’s beloved lifestyle café and concept store The Slow has officially made its move, and it is not just a change of address but in atmosphere.
Now calling On The Promenade in Waterfront Dbayeh home, the award-winning concept space embraces a calmer pace. This time with sweeping sea views, boats drifting by, and sunsets worth lingering over!
Founded in 2019 by architect Sari Kassouf, The Slow quickly became more than just a café. Its original Mar Mikhael space was part boutique, part co-working area, and part gallery. It’s a haven for creatives, coffee lovers, and anyone who wanted to slow down in the middle of Beirut’s buzzing streets.
In Dbayeh, that same spirit lives on, only now with more room to breathe.
The new location features a serene terrace, thoughtfully curated interiors, and the same dedication to good coffee, honest food, and meaningful moments. Whether it is a mindful morning with a matcha latte, a long lunch with friends, or a quiet evening drink by the water, the menu is as much a reason to visit as the view.
The Slow serves fresh and flavor-packed dishes. This includes dishes like the unique Hikari Sushi Breakfast Bowl, Umami Tagliatelle, and Japanese Glazed Wagyu Burger. There is also a selection of fresh smoothies, decadent pancakes, and wholesome bowls. Each plate reflects the cafe’s focus on quality ingredients and a balance between indulgence and nourishment.
Well-lit and perfectly spacious, The Slow also features Namat Wellness Center. It’s an exercise studio with yoga, Pilates, and so much more.
The Slow is still more than a place to eat or drink. It is a space for community, creativity, and connection. It’s where design lovers browse locally made pieces, freelancers settle in for the day, and conversations flow as easily as the coffee.
