Nineteen-year-old wildlife photographer Sami Lakkis believes that not only are Lebanon’s landscapes worth capturing, but also its magnificent wildlife. He’s made it his mission to showcase the beauty of local wildlife in a series of photographs that have been going viral on social media, so we thought he deserved a spotlight.
His camera takes him to mountains, forests, and every corner in between, capturing moments of wildlife that many of us never get to see.

Lebanon may be small, but it’s incredibly diverse with its snow-capped mountains, ancient cedar forests, and sandy Mediterranean beaches, making it home to diverse wildlife.
Sami is well aware of the threats Lebanese wildlife faces, including habitat destruction, pollution, and illegal hunting all put Lebanon’s wild creatures at risk. Through his work, he hopes that through his work, people will not only admire Lebanon’s wildlife but also understand the importance of protecting it.
