Despite the war and destruction in Dahye, Lebanese florist Ali Rida refused to leave his shop behind. On the contrary, he returned to the same shop that was destroyed in Haret Hreik, set up a simple wooden slab, and began arranging colorful bouquets as if challenging reality.
The vibrant bouquets planted life against the backdrop of destruction, arranged with love as an act of resilience. He wrote: “They can destroy the shop, but the hands that create beauty afterwards are still here (…) they didn’t know that flowers reside in the soul, and no one can destroy the soul.”
This isn’t the first time Ali has done this. Back in 2024, he stood his ground, arranging flowers amid the rubble, showing the world that even in devastation, beauty survives.
Those who continue to live, create, and persevere remind us of the lives that keep Dahye alive, even in the hardest times.
