Recorded Online Lecture Captures Moment of Yesterday’s Violent Airstrikes

A heartbreaking video circulating on social media captured the raw terror faced by Lebanese students following yesterday’s massacres by enemy strikes in Beirut, its suburbs, the south, and Bekaa, which took the lives of over 250 individuals and injured over 1,100.

What started as a regular online lecture for first-year students on oral language development was interrupted by the sound of violent airstrikes. Screams followed as students panicked, trying to figure out what was happening before disconnecting to seek shelter.

The professor, who teaches speech and voice therapy, shared the video to show the reality of living under constant threat. For the past two years, Lebanese people have been going about their daily lives amid repeated airstrikes, explosions, and attacks. Over time, the constant presence of violence has become a grim backdrop to everyday life.

It is a stark reminder that these horrors have become normalized. It is survival in the shadow of violence, and a reality no one should have to accept.
