Help This Initiative Secure Assistive Devices for the Displaced

Thousands of displaced families face compounded hardships, especially those with disabilities. Arcenciel, a Lebanese NGO founded in 1985, steps in with its core mission to empower those left most vulnerable amid war.

Arcenciel provides wheelchairs, crutches, hearing aids, prosthetics, and other assistive devices through centers in Beirut, Bekaa, the south, and other regions. They offer free assessments, custom fittings, and training, helping war-affected individuals, especially children and elders, regain independence despite displacement and injuries.

With surges in displacement from recent strikes, the need for these devices has grown critical. Arcenciel is rallying support to maintain supplies and services for families in camps and host communities, ensuring no one is left behind.

Accessible displacement shelters

The Disaster Risk Management Unit at the Ministry of Social Affairs coordinated with partners to designate a number of centers across Lebanon that received displaced persons with disabilities.

The initiative aims to ensure safer, more suitable shelter options for some of the most vulnerable members of the community. For the full list of accessible shelters, click here.
