We Just Found the Most Mouthwatering Cinnamon Rolls in Beirut

There are cinnamon rolls, and then there are cinnamon rolls that make you stop scrolling. We recently came across Kinu, a tiny bakery tucked inside BARON in Mar Mikhael, and its cinnamon rolls look insanely good.

Kinu is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11 AM until sold out, so if you want to get your hands on one, you might want to plan ahead. The limited schedule also makes the whole thing feel a little more like a weekly ritual than your average bakery run.

The name comes from a sweet little play on words. “Kin” means your people, while “kinn” in Arabic refers to shelter or the nest you run to. Put the two together, and you get Kinu. The bakery describes itself as being for “anyone who left home to go find home.” It’s a pretty fitting idea for a bakery built around the simple comfort of something warm, freshly baked, and probably best eaten straight away.

The rolls are the obvious stars here, with those beautifully swirled layers of dough, cinnamon, and glaze that make it very difficult to behave. They look soft, generously filled, and exactly like the kind of thing you want alongside a coffee on a slow morning.

Kinu also seems to be taking the small-batch approach seriously. There’s no endless supply sitting around all day. They bake, they open, and once everything is gone, that’s it. Which brings us back to the important part: Wednesday or Saturday, 11 AM until sold out.
