Lebanon’s Order of Engineers and Architects Kicks Off Its 75th Anniversary Celebrations

The Order of Engineers and Architects in Beirut (OEAB) marked its 75th anniversary with a Diamond Jubilee Gala Dinner on October 3, 2026, bringing together more than 1,200 guests from Lebanon’s political, diplomatic, academic, and engineering communities.

The gathering welcomed diplomatic representatives, academics, professional syndicate representatives, and engineers from Lebanon and the wider Arab region. It marked a milestone in the Order’s history and offered an opportunity to reflect on the profession’s contributions to the country.

Highlights from the Gala

In his address, OEAB President Engineer Fadi Hanna highlighted the role of Lebanese engineers in construction, reconstruction, economic development, and shaping the country’s future. He also stressed the importance of drawing on the expertise of engineers and working collectively to help Lebanon move forward.

The broad range of guests reflected the engineering profession’s connections with public institutions, universities, professional organizations, and the private sector. The gathering also served as an occasion to recognize the Order’s longstanding presence in Lebanon and its place within the country’s professional community.

The Order’s Projects and Partnerships

The Order continues to pursue initiatives aimed at supporting engineers and their families. One such development is its partnership with Bellevue Medical Center to establish the OEA–BMC Clinics & Diagnostic Center at the Order’s premises in Beirut. Announced back in September 2026, the partnership aims to extend healthcare services to the engineering community and their families.

The project reflects the broader importance of healthcare access and member services within the Order’s work, alongside its role in representing engineers and supporting the profession.

One of the highlights of the Diamond Jubilee was the anthem created to celebrate the Order’s 75-year journey and the enduring role of engineers and architects in building Lebanon. Featuring lyrics by Nizar Francis and music by Michel Fadel, the anthem paid tribute to the Order’s legacy and its continued connection to the country’s future.

The Diamond Jubilee marked 75 years since the first celebration of Lebanese Engineers’ Day. As the country faces ongoing challenges related to reconstruction and development, the anniversary also brought renewed attention to the role engineers and architects can play in shaping infrastructure, strengthening institutions, and contributing their expertise to the country’s future.
