Lebanese Cinema Week Is Back! Have You Seen the Full Program?

As October comes to a close, film enthusiasts, archivists, and culture lovers across Lebanon are gearing up for the second edition of Lebanese Cinema Week.

Running from October 26 to October 30, 2026, this nationwide cultural initiative brings restored gems and seminal works from Lebanon’s rich cinematic history back to the big screen. And it’s completely free of charge to the public!

Organized under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with CinΓ©mathΓ¨que Libanaise, Lebanese Cinema Week is a vibrant tribute to the filmmakers, storytellers, and generations who have defined Lebanon’s cultural landscape.

About Lebanese Cinema Week

Lebanese Cinema Week is a decentralized, nationwide initiative designed to democratize access to Lebanon’s film archives. Rather than confining screenings to elite festivals or single arthouse hubs, the program spans 9 distinct venues across the country, stretching from Beirut to Metn, Chouf, the North, and the South.

By bringing digitized and restored prints into public community centers, cultural spaces, and restored historic theaters, the initiative ensures that audiences outside the capital share equal access to the nation’s visual heritage.

Lebanon’s film history has long faced existential threats, from decades of civil unrest and physical destruction of archives to humidity, neglect, and political turmoil. For years, iconic masterworks remained inaccessible, trapped in vaults across Europe and the Middle East.
