Duo guitar concert by Susanne Hilker and Katrin Simon

you are invited to attend a duo guitar concert by Susanne Hilker and Katrin Simon.

Susanne Hilker studied guitar at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Professor Hans Graf. After graduating in 1984, she specialized in chamber music with Professors Konrad Grahe and Wolfgang Hufschmidt. She obtained her Degree with honors in 1988. Winner of “KulturPreis” in 1985 from the city of Essen and of the Folkwang special prize in 1988. Invited by the Goethe Institute, she performed at the “Guitar Night” in Dublin in 1990 and toured South America with the compositions of Rolf Riehm. She has been teaching at the Folkwang Hochschule since 1989.

Katrin Simon studied at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Professor Hans Graf. She has participated in numerous international guitar competitions and master classes with Professors Karl Scheit, Heinz Teuchert, Eliot Fisk, and Manuel Barrueco; and Martin Hornstein. She has recorded extensively for radio, television and CDs. She performed in solo and in chamber music in Germany and abroad, particularly in Italy and Spain, where she played the guitar concerto “Fantasia para un gentilhombre” by Joaquin Rodrigo.
