Dennis Smith is one of the leading sociologists in the world. He is professor for sociology at Loughborough University (UK). His seminal book Globalization: The Hidden Agenda is a provocative account of our global times, portraying the power–humiliation component of globalization. Smith explains why globalization is a growing source of conflict in the world, producing and reproducing distinctive patterns of humiliation and domination.
