Golden Slumbers Screening at Metropolis Cinema

As part of Les Ecrans Du Reel festival, Metropolis Cinema is hosting a screening of the documentary “Golden Slumbers” by Davy Chou.

Synopsis: The irresistible rise of Cambodian cinema, which began in 1960, was stopped short in 1975 by the Khmer Rouges’ arrival in power. Most of the films have disappeared, the actors were killed and the theaters were transformed into restaurants or karaoke bars.

“Golden Slumbers” listens to the stories of a few survivors and tries to revive the spirit of this forgotten cinema
