This docu-fiction is set in post-war Beirut, being rebuilt mainly by Syrian construction workers.

The documentary consists of interviews with these migrant workers concerning the quality and quantity of work, pay, expenses, family, and interpersonal relations within Lebanese society.

The fiction part is the story of Ahmed, a young Syrian man who comes to Beirut with the intention of staying, taking pride in every building he helps complete.
This film demonstrates the disparity between Ahmed’s ideals and the harsh reality he and millions of migrant workers are faced with.
