French spoken-word band Këlem will be performing at EM Chill in support of their tour after the release of their new album.
Këlem was created in 2006 by Nebil Daghsen, and is a spoken word band at the cross road of many styles.
The original quartet was the result of a common wish: to find the equilibrium between poetry, rap, spoken word, and music.
Their new album, “Jasmin Rouge” (Red Jasmin) was recorded between Paris and Tunis. Këlem’s first album is a bridge between western and eastern culture, inspiried by a hybrid hip-hop based production tainted with eastern melodies and acoustic instruments.
The album is a story of a revolution, of it’s beginnings and it’s consequences. Hear the echo of a different Arabic revolution, a need to express, to live and exist which animates the youth of the world.
