Lilith – Dance and choreography by Lamia Safieddine

From Nov 19 to Nov 20, 2010
8:30pm -> 10:00pm

Lilith (Arabic Leila, “The Night”) was the equal to the first man. She assumed her masculine counter-part as not less than his partner but alas, her counterpart does not agree with her causing Lilith to leave. Fallen, and damned she then becomes a symbol of feminine pejorative (evil, dark, earth …).
It is from this myth that Lamia Safieddine weaves her choreography. Sensitive to the cause of emancipation of Arab women, Lamia Safieddine pays tribute to women in all its components. A show of Arab contemporary dance that crumbles on the scores of the greatest composers and performers such as Arab and European Abed Azri, Rabih Abou-Khalil, Jacques Brel, Safy Boutella, Regine Crespin, Fayrouz, Oum Kalthoum, Khaled, Marcel Khalife Ravel.
