Nevermind! An Indie Night at Hole in the Wall

Monday, Oct 17, 2011
9:00pm -> 12:00am
Hole in the Wall

Big things are happening in the indie scene here in Lebanon. Radio One is playing Gotye. We don’t know why, but we love it. They are also playing a remix of Lykke Li’s “I follow rivers” (one of the summer’s most played songs at the Skybar). And Indie concerts and events are popping up all over the place!

On a more international level, Nirvana’s Nevermind album celebrated its 20th birthday and R.E.M broke up.

So this week, all the while bringing you the freshest releases, we’re taking a trip back to the 90’s paying tribute to Nirvana and R.E.M by playing the bands that inspired their sounds and those influenced by it. We’re also paying tribute to SubPop records who discovered Nirvana and were responsible for most of the Seattle grunge Scene (Soundgarden, Dinosaur Jr, Smashing pumpkins, Sonic Youth…) and current bands like Cocorosie, White Strips, Afghan Wigs, Band of Horses, Handsome Furs, CSS, Fleet foxes, Modest Mouse, The shins, The Rapture, The postal service and many many more.
