‘Kasra’ is pleased to invite you to experience this tradition that dates to over 100 years and to participate in this unique experience before the end of harvest time in Lebanon.
You will combine family fun with olive harvest, demonstration by local experts on oil and olives picking, a traditional village lunch, optional soft hike in the olive plantation overlooking the sea with a visit to an old monastery.
The event will take place in Gharzouz, an easily accessible, small traditional and hidden village in the Jbeil district. A location of around 500 meters altitude above sea level where you will be experiencing in this ideal setting our ancestors’ old-fashion way of harvesting.
This day is a chance for families to reconnect with nature and for kids to put down their ipads for a day and live the ultimate village experience.
Your journey will begin with a ‘Light Saj Breakfast’ and an introduction by olive experts on the techniques of olive picking, guiding you through the various stages of the preparation for the harvest.
During the day, a competition will be organized between teams. They will weigh how many kilos each team managed to pick and prizes will be distributed.
A village lunch will be prepared and served under the olive trees including a ‘Karke’ and ‘Arak’ tasting.
The day will end with a practical demonstration of the various olive picking techniques and you will leave with your own picked and picked
