Synopsis: The story unravels during the First World War in the village of Rechmaya, in the Lebanese mountains (Rech mayya means “water spring” in Aramean). Anissa, a generous woman, a spring of gaiety and life is confronted by famine, the departure of her beloved son and eventually is lead to falling into a forbidden love.
