The Palm Islands Nature Reserve was declared a protected area in 1992 and comprises three inhabited islands (Sanani, Ramkine & Palm).
This marine ecosystem is one of the few remaining breeding grounds for the endangered Loggerhead Turtle and a resting place for 156 species of migratory birds.
