Stocos

Muriel Romero and Pablo Palacio collaborated since 2007 on a project based on the analysis and development of the interaction between the sound gesture and the danced gesture. The trilogy ‘Acusmatrix’, ‘Catexis’ and ‘Stocos’ are the result of its research. In this series of parts, the activity of the dancer moves in a three-dimensional sound space, interacting with sound objects that are in turn transformed according to their trajectories (their morphology). These works include on stage, abstractions derived from other disciplines, such as artificial intelligence, biology, mathematics or experimental psychology. ‘Stocos’ is the third table in this trilogy. This series develops into a set of loudspeakers distributed on stage and within the public, and within which sound objects move and change along trajectories associated with spatial movements of the dancers.
