Led by the Native Tongues-inspired, poet-MC Tumi Molekane, the Johannesburg-based band combine their progressive hip-hop recipe with elements of rock, spoken word, and African jazz and pop.

Tumi and the Volume performed next to veteran acts such as the Roots, Blackalicious, Massive Attack, and Coldplay. The band is a politically aware band offering a balanced dose of entertainment and social commentary with a scope of emotions representative of post-apartheid South Africa.
