Ycare Ace, whose real name is Assane Attyé, is a French singer, and former contestant of “Nouvelle Star”, France’s counterpart to American Idol.
Lebanese of origin, born in Senegal, and French by adoption, Ycare had a childhood punctuated by an accident which left him temporarily paralyzed.
Ycare turned to music and learning the guitar and writing very early on his own songs. After earning a bachelor’s degree, he went to France to continue his studies, where he started performing low-key shows in local coffee shops in Montpellier. To finish his schooling, he moved to Paris, received his MBA and became a trader of raw materials.
His friend urge him to join the casting for “Nouvelle Star” to excellent results: He ends up 4th runner up on the show.
As soon as he’s eliminated from the show, Ycare heads to Dakar where he records a Demo in the studio of Youssou N’Dour . Back in Paris, he presents that same Demo which leads him to a collaboration with “19” (managers of Julien Doré and Amel Bent among others) and Auguri Productions (collaborators with M and Vanessa Paradis among others).
He releases his first album “Au bord du monde” in 2009 by Epic Jive, and he continues to sign to Sony Music .
On June 6, 2011, Ycare released his second album, “Lumiere Noire”, under the same label.
