Nice and tidy world of Sevda, married for seven years, is shattered when she realized that her husband Cezmi having affair with Zuhal who worked at the same hospital with him. Her marriage with Cezmi is the biggest success in Sevda\u2019s life. Cezmi is her protector, assurance, social and emotional shelter. She is afraid of being lonely, raising her little girl without a father and losing her home and future dreams. Whereas Zuhal \u201cThe other woman\u201d broke up her husband a few years ago and was left alone with her ten years old sick son. Like every other lonely women she tries to share her insufficient energy and time between lots of things and stand on her own legs. Cezmi brings Zuhal\u2019s anxious and tired life unexpected excitement, longed sexuality and a sense of safety that men can provide. Sevda while, continues on her clockwork home system without Cezmi\u2019s notice, with her mother\u2019s advice, by the same housewife attention stalks Zuhal. Even she has an entry of her house, and learns her habits, order and her times. Every other day she sees Cezmi, belonging to this relationship a little bit more. With Zuhal\u2019s ex-husband Mustafa return to get his wife back, the critical balance will be completely collapsed and they will float to a violent end.<\/p>\n
The Metropolis Association and the Izmir Cinema Association, in partnership with the Turkish Embassy in Lebanon, are glad to present the 2nd edition of the cycle New Turkish Cinema. 12 films of different genres will be screened at Metropolis Empire Sofil between the 5th and the 11th of March 2012, including a special selection of the reclaimed director Fatih Akin.<\/p>\n
The festival will be opened with Nuri Bilge Ceylan\u2019s film Once upon a time in Anatolia (winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes Film Festival in 2011). The audience will also have the chance to see the latest film of Tyfun Piselimoglu Hair, as well as the favorites of the Turkish film festival such as What Remains by Cigdem Vitrinel, Zephyr by Belma Bas and Cosmos by Reha Erdem. In addition to this, the cycle will present the debut film of Seren Yuce Majority (winner of the Lion of the Future, Venice Film Festival 2010).<\/p>\n
A special selection of the reclaimed director Fatih Akin will be selected: the romantic comedy In July (2000), the awarded Torino (2002), the reclaimed Head-On (winner of the Golden Bear, Berlin Film Festival 2004) and the documentary Crossing the Bridge: the Sound of Istanbul (2005).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
