The Center for Civic Engagement and Community Service (CCECS) at the American University of Beirut will launch for the first time in Lebanon a sensory photography workshop for the visually impaired by Gina Badenoch, one of the World Economic Forum Young Global Leader for 2012.<\/p>\n
The workshop will be organized in partnership with Ojos que Sienten A.C, Youth Association of the Blind, and The Image Festival Association \u201cZakira\u201d from May 21st until May 27th, 2012 at AUB where visually impaired participants will have the chance to take photos on their own.<\/p>\n
Ojos que Sienten A.C. is a nonprofit organization that aims to change perceptions in society about persons with visual impairment, by empowering and including them in the social, workplace, and, educational environments, thus helping them overcome their barriers. It was founded by Gina Badenoch, who realized, after carrying out research in London on visually impaired photographers, that photography is a tool of expression with great potential for persons living with this disability.
