Matthias has spent five months in solitary confinement, sentenced by the GDR authorities for illegal border crossing. Deprived of sleep and social contact, cut off from the outside world, he lived on his mere daydreams, yearning to catch a glimpse of the sky or to smell the scent of the ocean… Even after 23 years, Matthias can`t escape from his former cell.<\/p>\n
