Plan Bey is hosting the launch of a new publication by Ilaria Lupo entitled Deviations, an Atlas of Beirut<\/i>. <\/p>\n

Newly established in Beirut, and impressed by the difficulty of orientation and the impossibility of using a map, Ilaria Lupo decides to walk the city, from neighborhood to neighborhood, and to record directions given over the phone by local inhabitants attempting to describe her exact location, further documenting her journey through photographs of the characters involved. The result is a totally subjective \u201cAtlas\u201d of the city, exposing the mental maps of Beirut\u2019s inhabitants.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
