In this new creation, five women survivors of the Civil War are struggling with their past beliefs, repeated disappointments, and losses. Their wounded bodies and souls tell the stories of their own insecurities, insomnias, anger, and fear from the other. The burden of violence keeps growing inside their bodies and minds.
The performance highlights the aftermath of the Lebanese Civil War and how unresolved matters have fed into a psychologically oppressed and unstable society. The sudden end of the Civil War without publicly resolving the conflicts and establishing a national reconciliation did not allow a closure of the issues that initiated the violence in 1975. It seems that the Lebanese did not mourn nor have they ever buried their conflicts.
