As part of the Miniatures festival, the Sunflower Theatre will be hosting an exhibition by Syrian artist Wassim Ghrawi.<\/p>\n

Ghrawi was born in 1981 in Damascus to a family from the northern countryside of Aleppo. He is considered to be one of the few distinctive mosaic artists in Syria and the Arab world. He produced many artistic works and mosaic walls in antique places in Syria and elsewhere. He developed techniques in the Mosaic art and became a reference in the stone mosaic in his area.<\/p>\n

Due to the tragic humanitarian situation in Syria and being forced suddenly to immigrate from his mother country, Wassim started practicing drawing as a simpler and faster way to express his thoughts.<\/p>\n

In this exhibition, Wassim attempts to shed the light on the animalistic aspect of the human instinct behavior, like life, death and survival at its peak, to reflect in his paintings his impression of the Syrians\u2019 situation in the midst of the current situation.<\/p>\n
