The Beirut Street Festival is back in 2014 for its 10th edition.<\/p>\n
Whether you encounter some of these urban interventions by chance, or intend to follow the schedule for specific shows, the aim is to restore outdoor culture through participatory street theater and dance. Take a moment to enjoy the cosmopolitan creative artistic atmosphere in the city with the Beirut Street Fest.<\/p>\n
Jozsef Trefeli and Gabor Varga take dance performance to a public space in Jinx 103, exploring together the rhythms and rituals of life in a high energy, captivating performance. This meeting of two male dancers is connected by both being from the Hungarian diaspora, one was born in Australia and the other, the USSR. They come together in dance, the art form they share, even though they are from opposite sides of the globe. <\/p>\n
Through their common vocabulary of vibrant body percussion, they create a breathtakingly energetic performance of lighting fast footwork, leg twisting and weaving, which really draws the audience in. <\/p>\n
Why JINX 103? In many languages when two people accidentally say the same thing simultaneously, there is a word that must be quickly said to ward off bad luck: the French say “CHIPS”, the English say “JINX” and the Hungarians say “103”.<\/p>\n
All performances are free of charge and open to the public.<\/I><\/p>\n
