In keeping with its efforts to strengthen ongoing bilateral ties, especially at the people to people level, the Indian Embassy, Beirut screened a famous Bollywood movie, Jodhaa Akbar at its premises in Hamra, Beirut, on 16 July. The event, which was attended by top-ranking Lebanese officials, media representatives and diplomats, is one in a series of programmes which the Embassy will be organizing to create better awareness about the promising potential for intensifying interaction between India and Lebanon. <\/p>\n

Set in the royal and ambient surroundings of the Mughal empire in mid-sixteenth century India and interspersed with the colours and splendor of the Rajput kingdom, Jodhaa Akbar took its spell-bound audience on a vibrant tour of mesmerizing landscapes, luxuriant royal costumes and jewelry, soothing melodies and hand-to-hand traditional combat, unfolding during the moving romance between the greatest Mughal emperor, Jalaluddin Mohammed Akbar and his fiery Rajput princess, Jodhaa.<\/p>\n

In his introductory remarks, H.E. Ravi Thapar, Ambassador of India, mentioned that Bollywood produces more than 800 high-quality movies every year. The embassy, which has also set up under its patronage, the Association for Development of Lebanese Indian Relations (ADLIR), proposes to hold more business and cultural events for enhancing ties between both countries. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
