Cold weather conditions were reportedly responsible for the deaths of four Syrian infants<\/a> in Arsal and Akroum last week, following the arrival of the winter storm, Alexa, in Lebanon.<\/p>\n

Oxfam says around two-thirds of the over 800,000 Syrian refugees in the country have settled in the Bekaa Valley and northern part of the country, which are especially prone to harsh winter conditions. If you missed the big clothing drive<\/a> this past weekend to supply clothing and blankets to Syrian refugees, we’ve compiled a list of organizations who are specifically working to provide various aid – in the forms of food, shelter, clothing, water and other basic needs – to the families struggling to survive. While international organizations are doing what they can to help, the UNHCR estimates at least $1.2 billion in aid <\/a> is still needed. Here’s how you can help:<\/p>\n
