{"id":38674,"date":"2015-02-09T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2015-02-09T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/38674\/lets-get-drinks-lebanese-edition"},"modified":"2023-05-08T09:22:01","modified_gmt":"2023-05-08T09:22:01","slug":"lets-get-drinks-lebanese-edition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/en\/38674\/lets-get-drinks-lebanese-edition\/","title":{"rendered":"Let&#8217;s Get Drinks: Lebanese Edition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In olden times, all you had to do in order to avoid someone was to not be physically near them. <\/p>\n<p>  Now, it\u2019s gotten more complex; there are hundreds of platforms for people to harass you on making it extremely difficult for you to snub someone \u2013 and if you are planning on performing a snubbing, you need to be careful of any opposing evidence that may surface. <\/p>\n<p>  For example, you can\u2019t say that you\u2019re sick and are going to stay home that night and then get tagged in a picture on Instagram with the caption, \u201cAnd at night we party *emoji, emoji, emoji*\u201d \u2013 or something equally ridiculous. <\/p>\n<p>  That being said, Lebanese girls have mastered the art of false promises and putting off scheduled meetings, normally the conversations go as follows:<\/p>\n<p>  (N.B. When is good for you?<br \/>  <b>Girl A:<\/b> Any time, habibi \u2013 I literally do nothing all day.<br \/>  <b>Girl B:<\/b> I swear I do nothing at all, just pick any day. <br \/>  <b>Girl A:<\/b> Okay, this Thursday?<br \/>  <b>Girl B:<\/b> Yiiii I promised my mom I would go shoe shopping with her!
