Additionally, the migrant workers are not allowed to marry anyone else, whether Lebanese or foreign, during their stay in Lebanon or else they face deportation. <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/-Rh6FTZ8jbqU\/TyaV7N8O92I\/AAAAAAAAAaQ\/4z_-XAJxZRQ\/s1600\/tumblr_lyiyv77eST1r4w9sv_large.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  With this racist and regressive law, Lebanon is actually doing migrant workers a favor. Lebanese laws and institutions do very little to protect women from abuse, and even less to protect wives from their husbands when horrible things like marital rape come into play. <\/p>\n<p>  So really, what are they missing out on? I mean, besides some stellar misogyny from Lebanese men and what&#8217;s surely the most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beirut.com\/l\/40756\" target=\"_new\" rel=\"noopener\">psychotic population of boyfriends <\/a> on the planet. <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.reactiongifs.com\/r\/oprah-won-t-accept-it.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  The Lebanese government has always been great at hindering the rights of minorities, and has targeted domestic workers for a long time. This new law only strengthens the already defective sponsorship (kafala) system, and gives employers the right to further violate the personal and psychological freedoms of migrant workers. <\/p>\n<p>  Sponsors are asked to be responsible for ensuring that their domestic worker is not engaging in any relationship with anyone in Lebanon. It treats these workers as sub-human robots who aren&#8217;t allowed to love, have personal relationships, or fulfill their psychological needs. It is modern-day slavery. <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/uproxx.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/10\/racist-anchovies2.gif?w=650f\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  Imagine if Lebanese people weren\u2019t allowed to marry while they work abroad. Three-quarters of the Lebanese population wouldn\u2019t exist. <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i936.photobucket.com\/albums\/ad209\/sMiLeSoMy\/Gifs\/image31.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  So, migrant workers, there you have it. You\u2019ve been prohibited from marrying Lebanese people \u2013 and this may very well be the best thing that\u2019s ever happened to you.<\/p>\n<p>  And a final message to the Lebanese
