Beirut is Overflowing With Garbage"},"content":{"rendered":"<big>Garbage is piling up on the streets of Beirut after Sukleen said its company can&#8217;t take any more waste to the Naameh landfill.<br \/>  <br \/>  The landfill was slated to close on July 17. Since then, residents of Naameh and nearby villages have prevented trucks from reaching it to unload trash.<br \/>  <br \/>  Environment Minister Mohammed al-Mashnouq vowed on Tuesday to resolve the waste management problem.<br \/>  <br \/>  Meanwhile, the trash continues to pile up as workers spray them with white powder to knock back the smell.
