Whether it\u2019s because they\u2019re conservative or still retain some of that civil war fear, sometimes Lebanese parents don\u2019t really need to know exactly what\u2019s going on. Here are a few excuses to use on your Lebanese parents.<\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <b><big><big>Excuse #1: Starbucks is open 24\/7.<\/b><\/big><\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/38.media.tumblr.com\/688d15bdb036b6843992fec532923b33\/tumblr_mrovk0jOer1sws3j7o1_500.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  <big>I was working on a project with my classmates on renewable energy systems in Guwahati. We were brainstorming and really digging deep into how we can replicate similar programs in Lebanon, my beautiful home country. The time just slipped away, and although it is 5 AM, you can\u2019t rush it when it comes to saving Lebanon. I am doing this for all of us. You\u2019re welcome.<\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <b><big><big>Excuse #2: I need to go star-gazing.<\/b><\/big><\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.reactiongifs.com\/r\/2013\/03\/drunk-dance.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  <big>It is part of a project I\u2019m doing in my astronomy class in university. I need to be in a place with no pollution or lights to be able to see Venus tonight. I will have no cell phone reception, so please do not fret, for I will be fine. I\u2019ll be back at 6 AM after I am finished gazing at Venus.<\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <b><big><big>Excuse #3: It\u2019s poetry night.<\/b><\/big><\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/GRZwvJtQBkdVe\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  <big>Mama, Baba, I am going to poetry night. It is very important that I recite my newest slam poetry to an audience of fellow intellectuals. What do you mean I haven\u2019t mentioned my poems before? Oh, you want to hear some of my poetry? Let me get back to you. You can\u2019t force art, and I\u2019m just not feeling it right now.<\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <b><big><big>Excuse #4: My friend was drunk and I thought that I should be responsible and take her home.<\/b><\/big><\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lovelace-media.imgix.net\/uploads\/186\/db81a450-99bc-0132-e42d-0e7954aeedc0.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  <big>Being the ever-sober adult I am, mama, I thought it would be wise to help those less responsible than I. Goodness, people do drink so much these days. It\u2019s really quite disturbing. I need to go lie down and think about the state of my generation. Good night.<\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <b><big><big>Excuse #5: It\u2019s [insert friend\u2019s name here]\u2019s sister\/brother\u2019s engagement. <\/b><\/big><\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i.imgur.com\/4Zmq7yV.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  <big>I have to go. It would be <i>3ayb<\/i> not to. Oh, I already told you I was going to her engagement last year? Well you see, what I meant was, I\u2019m going to her actual wedding tonight. I know, so many celebrations for one freakin\u2019 marriage. I know you don\u2019t think I\u2019m dressed up enough for a wedding, but I\u2019m bringing back the casual look. Anyways it\u2019s way up in the mountains.
