This elegant Parisian eatery offers an extensive assortment of special tea blends, as well as several exotic black teas, most of which combine leaves from China and Sri Lanka with an array of fruit and herb infusions, like the famous Mélange Spécial La Durée. You also must try the Jardin Bleu Royal: black tea infused with wild strawberry, rhubarb, and cherry aromas-scattered with cornflower and marigold petals. Fruity, floral, and super aromatic!

2. Café Diem

This place does breakfast and brunch right. Their sweet pastries are especially hearty, which calls for the right tea to set them off. They have amazing coffee, but their tea range is more impressive, and the best part (for me) is the swanky tea timer they put on the table for you so you can brew your leaves just right. You must try Thé à l’Opera which is infused with vanilla and red berries. I swear, the smell will hit you in the face and you’ll burn your tongue finishing the whole pot. Oh, and wait. Second favorite part: free almond biscotti with your tea cup. Just yum.

3. The Beazbee

Image via zomato.com

Everyone loves Beazbee’s breakfast menu, but their tea seems underexposed. I’m here to tell you it’s so worth delving into their tisanes selection. The restaurant partners with Jing, the organic tea company, and is one of the only places in the country that serves chai, puhers (hard to pronounce, but any tea lover knows it’s the ultimate tea), and matte! Also, you must try their afternoon tea for two: fresh scones, savories, and mini sandwiches on a three-tier stand, and a warm tea brew of your choice. Hard to find in Beirut, to say the least!

4. Cafe Younes
<img decoding="async" src="https://www.beirut.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/46874-2-250x188.png" width=“100%">
Photo taken by Mira Mawla.

Before you give in to the coffee temptation at Younes, have a look at the tea options offered by local producer Awan Tea. They have a great après-repas digestive tea with rosemary, mint, anise, cinnamon, and thyme called Light Feeling, a must-try for mid-day relaxing or a quick cleansing – it tastes amazing, too! Their morning tea combines leaves from India, Sri Lanka, and Kenya, and it gives you the caffeine kick you need to start your day! And it’s better than coffee.
