Let\u2019s talk about you and me. Let’s talk about all the good things, and the bad things that may be.<\/i><\/p>\n

More often than not, Lebanese men will ask during sex, “Am I hurting you?”<\/p>\n

Lol, not really. <\/p>\n

“I don’t want to bruise your cervix..\u201d<\/i><\/p>\n

Well, you’re around three inches shy of that so we’re all safe. <\/p>\n

Now that I’ve prefaced this with the most pointless story ever, let’s talk about sex.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Beirut is a city that oozes sex, it’s bursting at the seams with sex.It has a reputation for being the city where people are free to explore who they are, open their minds, and push their own boundaries – at least more than other places in this region. <\/p>\n

However, for all our showy-sexy-fuckery, we have very little to actually show for it. Where is all the sexual education in our schools? We have generation after generation of morons thinking that pulling out works (it doesn\u2019t). The lack of basic sexual education is staggering.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a notion about sex being degrading to women. Blow jobs and doggy style sex to be exact (and to be profane, much to my employer\u2019s dismay) are seen as degrading to women, because of the belief that self-respect is intrinsically linked to your vagina and your hymen. <\/p>\n

It is this pattern of thinking that leads to honor killings, shady abortions that cause women to bleed to death, and young girls getting black-mailed by their sexual partners. We can\u2019t change older generations or their ideas about sex, that would take far too long. But the rights of adolescents to sexual information are framed within the context of social democracy, something that is sorely missed in Lebanon. <\/big> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
