We\u2019ve picked up on your quirky habits and hilarious traits too, and here they are. Enjoy!<\/p>\n<p>  <b>1. They all think they\u2019re hilarious.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  They\u2019ll laugh at their own joke before you\u2019ve understood it. And you\u2019ll proceed to laugh at his laugh as opposed to laughing because it\u2019s funny.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>2. And they all think they\u2019re ridiculously cool.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/3o6EhMDUHhSgpa4fTi\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"> <\/p>\n<p>  And probably have some sort of cringe-worthy dance that they only showcase at special occasions, usually when they\u2019ve had too much <i>3ara2<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>3. They curse themselves while cursing you.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  <big>And I always get in more trouble for having a smug look on my face because it\u2019s pretty hilarious. <\/big><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-lang=\"en-gb\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Always got me crying when an Arab dad yells &#8220;Yin3an Abook&#8221; at his son.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 yousef (@YousefAbdeIhay) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/YousefAbdeIhay\/status\/793107059453550593\">31 October 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>  <script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>  <b>4. Beer bellies galore.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  They all seem to have a cute little beer belly which was obviously a 6 pack back in the day. (Or so they say.) <\/p>\n<p>  <b>5. They seem to know everyone.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  Everybody seems to know baba! That\u2019s why if you need anything, and I do mean <i>anything<\/i>, he probably knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who can sort you out. Lebanese dads give life to the word <i>wasta<\/i>.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>6. The Jesus robe.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/3orifdxh94UCCYVeW4\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  <big>Why do dads always have a bathrobe that\u2019s long with wide sleeves that they insist on walking around the house in? Yes, I have named it the Jesus robe. <\/big><\/p>\n<p>  <b>7. He\u2019s partially blind.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  As they get older, most Lebanese dads seem to have these cute little reading glasses that rest on the tip of their noses. The thing is, they\u2019re not actually used for reading, but rather for more important things, like watching funny Facebook videos.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>8. TV time is precious time.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  Whether it\u2019s the news every day at 8 PM sharp or his beloved <i>mousalsal<\/i>, his TV time is precious. Don\u2019t talk, and most certainly don\u2019t breathe.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>9. Do not bring up politics at the dinner table.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  Because heaven knows that\u2019s a conversation that will never end (or might even end with a chicken flying across the room).<\/p>\n<p>  <b>10. His post-lunch nap is sacred.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  Again, don\u2019t talk, don\u2019t breathe, and do not even tread remotely close to his precious sofa that he takes a nap on every Sunday after lunch (even if the remote control is under him).<\/p>\n<p>  <b>11. His war stories are endless.<\/big><\/big><\/b><\/p>\n<p>  Horror stories, funny stories and \u201cI\u2019m glad I\u2019m not you, dad\u201d stories, baba seems to have endless war tales that he seems to make relevant to every single situation in the world. Dad, there\u2019s no food! \u201c<i>Bi iyyem el 7arb<\/i> we had to smuggle bread into the village!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>  <b>12. He\u2019s always loaded with cash.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/fysOWwtuDgwgM\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  &#8211; \u201cDad, can I have $10?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>  &#8211; \u201cTake 50!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>  <b>13. If you\u2019re his son:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  You\u2019re his hero, his king, his pride and joy and <i>rejjel el beit<\/i>, even if you\u2019re fresh out the womb.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>14. If you\u2019re his daughter:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  <big>You\u2019re his pretty little princess. Even if you\u2019re 40.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>15. \u201cPapi! Paaaappppaaaa\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  You can absolutely tell what kind of father a man is, and his social class, simply by what his daughter calls him, whether it\u2019s Pap, Papi, Papa, Baba, Bayyeh, Dad or by his first name.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>16. SWAG.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/a6h71JgwZKz6w\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  He\u2019s either in a suave open collar shirt and suit, or in socks and sandals. There is no in between.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>17. \u201cS2ale emmik!\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  If you want to do anything, just know this will be his reply. Mama is actually the big boss in the house and he\u2019s scared of her too.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>18. The infamous mustache.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  Why did they all have a creepy looking mustache back in the day (that\u2019s now a black and white photo at your grandma\u2019s house) that they all reminisce on as if it was attractive?<\/p>\n<p>  <b>19. THE SNORING<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  We all feel sorry for our mothers, the house next door, and the neighboring continent because nobody &#8211; and I mean nobody &#8211; can escape the sound of baba\u2019s snoring.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>20. And last, but certainly not least:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  He insists on teaching you how to drive, in his own special way.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We had a giggle about things
