No venue I\u2019ve ever been to has had the same sweet vibe as this adorable, tasteful nest.\u00a0They serve afternoon tea and afternoon high tea (a traditional English afternoon meal usually comprised of mini-sandwiches, cakes, scones, and tea).

With such a beautiful setting inside, one would think there would be a grand entrance or a gaudy set up outside, but there was simply an exciting entrance conveniently located off of the main street of Gemmayze (past The Alleyway to the right – it\u2019s a dead end). I got to the driveway area and only saw a set of unlit stairs. I was starting to doubt my direction until I saw tiny candle lights guiding my way to a private, peaceful garden. The only sounds I could hear were peeps of conversations and the soft sound of waitresses talking to guests. I think the first thing I said to my friend was, \u201cI\u2019m gonna faint, this is too cute.\u201d I\u2019m a little dramatic, leave me alone.\u00a0





My friend and I were seated at the head of a shared table. A lovely concept, as a tea is by nature meant to bring people together. In Lebanon, shared tables aren\u2019t always used so this was definitely refreshing.

The table setting at the Blue House Tea Garden makes the tea goer feel like they have everything at their finger tips for a comfortable and enchanting night. First, our waitress escorted us to the tea selection which was thoroughly explained, our selection was then brought to our table. I ordered a Matcha Tea which came in a lovely large tea cup while my friend\u2019s tea was specifically served in a different cup, which further emphasized the organizer’s attention to detail.





There is a set menu which has a variety of options; you have a choice between Afternoon Tea (mini-cakes and scones, jam and cream, and cucumber sandwiches + tea) for $25\/person<\/b> or Afternoon High Tea (Scottish smoked salmon sandwich, cucumber sandwich, asparagus with truffle oil and pink pepper, blackened salmon sashimi, tea infused chicken salad, mini-cakes and scones, jam and cream + tea) for $40\/person<\/b>.

This allows guests to enjoy savory courses before indulging in the assortment of desserts served with jams and clotted cream. The dessert assortment highlights were the lemon scones lightly paired with jam. The Victoria sponge cake was a pleasant surprise, and the ginger snaps were full of flavor and presented a great change of tone.\u00a0




The Blue House Tea Garden is open on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM for tea brunch and at 5:30 PM for afternoon and high tea. You can also reserve on other days for groups larger than 5 people.
