Amazing at times, and extremely frustrating at others; here are our top tips for surviving and effortlessly blending in to everyday life in Lebanon.<\/big><\/p>\n

1.<\/b> Use terms like \u201cbsheel\u201d<\/i> and \u201ckhaze2\u201d<\/i> as often as possible.<\/p>\n
2.<\/b> Be we27a\/we2e7<\/i> because if you\u2019re not, you\u2019ll never get to the front of that queue.<\/p>\n
3.<\/b> Never, under any circumstances, drive through Achrafieh at 5 PM.<\/p>\n
4.<\/b> Don\u2019t take a bus, unless you leave 3 light-years in advance. <\/p>\n
5.<\/b> Don\u2019t drive behind a bus, taxi, or service if you value your blood pressure.<\/p>\n
6.<\/b> If someone says \u201csmallah 3leike chou kebrane\u201d<\/i>, they probably mean it bel 3ared<\/i>.<\/p>\n
7.<\/b> Get your nature fix from Horsh Beirut.<\/p>\n
8.<\/b> Don\u2019t turn the AC\/heater on and<\/i> the hot water if it\u2019s the generator.<\/p>\n
9.<\/b> Do order that extra garlic in your sandwich, your coworkers don\u2019t care (and are probably on the same garlic dose as you).<\/p>\n
10.<\/b> Know that you\u2019ll hate every car when you\u2019re walking, and every pedestrian when you\u2019re driving. Embrace it.<\/p>\n
11.<\/b> Never tell your Teta you\u2019re hungry, unless you\u2019re prepared to eat the entire village.<\/p>\n
12.<\/b> Ladies, add \u201cfashionista\u201d, \u201cbeauty blogger\u201d, or \u201cpublic figure\u201d to your Instagram bio.<\/p>\n
13.<\/b> Lads, add \u201cmotivational speaker\u201d or \u201cgym\/fitness addict\u201d to yours. <\/p>\n
14.<\/b> Ignore all remarks about weight, appearance, and questions about when you\u2019re getting married.<\/p>\n
15.<\/b> Don’t expect smiles when you want change for a $50 from your local forn<\/i> for a 500 LL man’ouche.<\/p>\n
16.<\/b> Don\u2019t sign up to a gym, unless you enjoy being bankrupt. Go running on the waterfront instead.<\/p>\n
17.<\/b> Don\u2019t take up two parking spaces for your picanto, unless you want 20 people to simultaneously wish death upon you.<\/p>\n
18.<\/b> Don\u2019t honk in traffic, unless you want 200 people to simultaneously wish death upon you.<\/p>\n
19.<\/b> Don\u2019t just \u201cgo for a walk\u201d in Achrafiye unless you love getting dog shit on your shoes.<\/p>\n
