Here are 13 ridiculous things we believed as children: <\/p>\n<p>  <b>1. Never leave your shoes upside down, because it would face God and that&#8217;s blasphemous.<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/78.media.tumblr.com\/3043fa7c888c139dd669130eafe3658a\/tumblr_p26yx4dxQl1rfzg5po1_500.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  <b>2. If you swallow gum, it will stay in your stomach for 7 years.<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/l3q2CtEtVvXxz7Sxi\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  I find the reasoning and physiology behind this myth fascinating.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>3. If you open an umbrella in the house, someone will die.<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media1.tenor.com\/images\/a98acbb6590f9ab445bf5b03c6d364c5\/tenor.gif?itemid=5362498\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  So dark.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>4. If someone steps over you when you\u2019re lying down, you stop growing taller.<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/h4Z6RfuQycdiM\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  Ohhh, so that\u2019s why I\u2019m short! (Shush, just let me have this).<\/p>\n<p>  <b>5. You need to close all closets and drawers or <i>jin<\/i> will come out of them while you&#8217;re sleeping.<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/gRCzY79AQj0gU\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  <b>6. Thunder is <i>Em R3aydeh<\/i> \u2013 an evil witch coming to kidnap young children.<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/3o6Mb6mEukOzMEMcBq\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  Now was this really necessary? <\/p>\n<p>  <b>7. You can&#8217;t pass the salt to another person by hand, you have to put it on the table first.<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media1.tenor.com\/images\/7c4ec8cae000813103d8563894bb377a\/tenor.gif?itemid=9511359\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  Everyone&#8217;s aunts at family lunches be like.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>8. The moon always followed us.<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/tQAYOAZI3AboQ\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  I don\u2019t know how we thought we were important enough that the moon in the majestic outer space would follow us around on our way to Barbar.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>9. If you&#8217;re wearing an evil eye bracelet or necklace and it breaks, you&#8217;re cursed with bad luck.<\/b> <\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/thumbs.gfycat.com\/IdioticUnpleasantJaeger-max-1mb.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  <b>10. If you cross your eyes a lot, or cross your eyes and get scared, they get stuck.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/xT0xepYDyqavdt76Ok\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  I\u2019m not sure what the logic behind this is, or if it actually is true; but one thing is for sure: I\u2019m not about to find out.<\/p>\n<p>  <b>11. If you put your mom&#8217;s bag &#8211; or any other bag &#8211; on the floor, the owner of the bag will lose all their money.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/xUA7bjBZQ6U1cOEDMA\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  <b>12. If you drop food on the floor, the devil licks it so you should not eat it.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>  <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/media.giphy.com\/media\/y4E6VumnBbIfm\/giphy.gif\"width=\"100%\"><\/p>\n<p>  Because this is easier than telling your child \u201cFood dirty. No eat.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>  <b>13.
