Stereotyping Lebanese students based on their universities is real. For example, it’s common knowledge that if you happen to attend AUB or LAU, you\u2019re spoiled and if you go to USJ you\u2019re automatically dubbed a hardcore Frenchie and the only way to start a conversation with you is by way of Bonjour, cavaaaa?<\/i><\/p>\n

If you happen to attend the Lebanese University, people assume you\u2019re a genius or completely lifeless and invested in your studies. But true to the phrase \u201cif you know, you know\u201d, life inside LU is nothing like it appears on the outside. <\/p>\n

Regardless of the wide variety of students enrolled in LU, and the diversity in their religious and sectarian beliefs, the experience of being an LU student brings them together. <\/p>\n

Here are some of the things only LU students can relate to:<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

1. University today, strike tomorrow<\/b><\/p>\n

It\u2019s impossible for an academic year to go by without strikes. We know when they start but we have no idea when they end. <\/p>\n

2. The second round of exams is always mid-summer and mid-heat<\/b><\/p>\n

Everyone has completed a second round of exams at LU, on which they wasted half or even their whole summer.<\/p>\n

3. A question that has confused scientists all over the world<\/b><\/p>\n

When is registration and tuition payment period? You never know when the academic year will start, sometimes it’s September, other times it’s October. <\/p>\n

4. Waiting for your grades to get on the tableau<\/b><\/p>\n

You anxiously wait for your grades to come out, and by come out I mean be displayed on the large board at the entrance where it takes you an hour to find your name and final grade. Oh, and everyone can see them before you do.<\/p>\n

5. The cafeteria<\/b><\/p>\n

The Coca Cola branding, Abou Abed\u2019s manouche<\/i>, and Nescafe in the middle of winter while on your way to class.<\/p>\n

6. You will never get to exercise your voting rights in university elections<\/b><\/p>\n

Because elections were banned almost 10 years ago.<\/p>\n

7. Kiss sleep goodbye<\/b><\/p>\n
